The client was an emerging vertically integrated supplier of strategic metals for advanced and clean technologies, and engaged us to help improve reporting efficiency using InEight.
The solution provided on‑demand extraction of cost, contract, and schedule data from InEight, with periodic snapshots captured to support trend reporting. Transforms raw InEight data into a structured reporting schema, enabling users to design and manage dashboards directly in Power BI. Built on Koanga’s Reporting Accelerator, the solution can also integrate additional non‑InEight data sources to meet diverse client requirements.
Process Overview
As part of the month‑end reporting process, site‑based Cost Engineers initiate the extraction of relevant InEight data. The solution captures this data and stores it in the client’s Azure Data Warehouse for the designated reporting period. Each dataset is then transformed into a standardized Reporting Schema, enabling Cost Engineers to access and analyze the information directly through Power BI.
Technical Overview
The Koanga Reporting Accelerators leverage InEight Reporting APIs alongside Azure Static Web Apps, Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL Server, and Microsoft Power BI components. Data is stored in the Data Lake as raw JSON files. Because a complete history of InEight data is retained by reporting period, associated transformation logic can be retrofitted to support evolving reporting requirements.
